This is a brief description of a trend setting technology service platform which makes the information on the internet available to everyone on a anywhere, anytime basis. Our Voice Internet technology (that provides Internet just using any phone and users voice, without a computer) is a solution to the missing component of existing approaches to bridge the Digital and Language Divides as the current approaches require either a computer or a laptop which many people do not have or can not easily learn or use. Bridging the Digital Divide in turn will help education, entrepreneurship and innovation, the three key components for the economic and social development.

Our state of the art patented Voice Internet technology allows anyone to access the Internet using the most ubiquitous device, a simple phone and most natural interface, user's own voice, without a computer. Users can surf any website, search any word(s), send/receive/compose/reply emails and much more just using their voice and any phone. Users basically talk and listen to the Internet. We have a "rendering" engine that can automatically render today's Visual Internet contents into short, precise, easily navigable and meaningful audio contents. There is no need to re-write the existing web pages as required by cell phones with screen.

We have found that many highly mobile, elderly and blind and Digital Divide people would like to access the Internet contents using a simple phone and users own voice. Voice Internet overcomes all the limitations of accessing the Internet using a personal device (cell phone with screen or PDA) or a computer.

InternetSpeech has a very broad and fundamental patent on Voice Internet - anyone accessing the Internet using voice and any phone is covered by our patent. (U.S. Patent No. 6,606,611). We actually have a good patent portfolio. This benefits our partners, customers and investors.

Our current users are using netECHO mainly for Surfing, Searching and doing email. We focus on three broad market segments, namely, Visually Impaired persons VIPs, business and Government.

NOW:
1. Provide complete Internet by voice. This way many people would have very easy access to the Internet, significantly helping their education, communication and economy.

2. Enable to move to next generation IVR (Interactive Voice Response) system as our technology will make all IVRs web based. No need to duplicate the efforts to make an audio site/source for a corresponding visual website. This would be very good for many government and enterprise applications.

Get into the wireless arena and make Wireless Internet using a mobile phone a reality by using our MicroBrowser that can displays any website on any PDA or Cell phone without straining your eyes, without any need to scroll and without re-writing any website with WML, CHTML or similar languages (please note that there are over 2 Billion websites and re-writing them as required by existing methods would cost over trillion dollars which is impractical.

We have recently entered into a MOU with Malaysian Govt. with a view to launch netECHO in Malay language. This voice internet initiative will voice enable e-governance in Malaysia. Our Chinese language service will be launched soon in collaboration with three Chinese telcos viz China Mobile, China Telecom and China Union. We expect to have 1 million users by the end of this year in China. We currently have 15,000 users in the US who regularly us netECHO.

We are confident that by year 2012 netECHO will be available in multiple languages such as Arabic, Urdu, Hindi, Gujarati, Marathi, Punjabi, Tamil, Bengali.

A dedicated telephone no will be provided to the users of netECHO. Ideally this telephone no should be toll free.

The user will call this telephone no and she/he will be welcomed by the voice internet system. The system netECHO will request the user to enter her/his ten digit user ID after this the system will demand a four digit PIN from the user. After verifying the user ID and PIN the netECHO will enquire about the task to be attempted such as Check Email, conduct a web search, do internet surfing, visit a popular website. To sight an example of how easy it is to use this system say for instance the user wants to check email all that is expected is that the user should speak out the command “check my email”. Now the system will ask for User Name and password of your email account. Post verification netECHO will readout i.e. recites the emails. The user can compose a voice mail at any point of time. In the similar fashion the user can conduct a web search or surf the net with simple voice commands. The system is fully secure as the speech component of netECHO is intelligent agent i.e. voice you’re here on the phone is software generated (Text to speech). The netECHO solution is resides on a server.
